Admissions
The County Council is responsible for admissions on entry to the school in Reception and full details of the County Council’s admissions policy and procedures are set out in the latest 'Schools in Suffolk' booklet. Children can be admitted to school full time, at the beginning of the school year in which they become five years old. Children can begin school part-time until the term in which they turn five years old.
We invite all children who gain a place at Occold Primary School to join Rabbit Class for a variety of activities in the Summer Term including Stay and Plays with parents, and two transition sessions towards the end of the Summer Term.
Pupils remain at the school until after their eleventh birthday. At the start of the next academic year (September) they transfer to Hartismere, Stradbroke, Debenham, or occasionally Thomas Mills High School, depending on their catchment area and parental choice.
If your child(ren) is joining us mid-year or in a year group that is not Reception, please contact the school directly if you are considering applying for a place. We would be delighted to show you around our lovely school at a time convenient to you.
