Friends of Occold Primary School

Our school is fortunate to be supported by a wonderful group of parents and carers who form 'The Friends of Occold Primary School'. They are an integral part of our school community.

Each year, an AGM is held during the autumn term when the committee is elected. During the year, fund-raising and social events are organised for both children and families to enjoy.

Recently, the Friends have organised lots of lovely events and fundraising activities:

• Weekly Friday tuck shop
• Family chocolate bingo
• Family quiz night
• Film night
• Disco
• Jumble sale
• Christmas market
• Pre-loved uniform sales
• Toy sale
• Village soup lunch
• Refreshments for school events
• Make it Happen May
• Easter trail
• Summer Fete

Money raised at these events is used to benefit the whole school. Most of the proceeds are put towards school trips and enrichment. This reduces the cost of these experiences for both school and families. The Friends also kindly buy each Year 6 child a leavers hoodie at the end of the year; they buy each child a pantomime ticket and treat each child to a delicious Christmas lunch. 

As a school, we are so grateful for all the support the Friends provide and we are lucky to have an amazing local community who always support their fundraising events.
